Built on evidence, not ingredient claims

Eden Gourmet Salmon & Pheasant is a complete, grain-free dry food formulated around freshly prepared novel proteins. We commissioned independent testing at two accredited UK laboratories, not to create marketing claims, but to measure exactly what the finished kibble delivers.

Why peptide size matters

The protein in this recipe is hydrolysed during cooking, gently pre-digested using a naturally occurring enzyme before it reaches your dog's gut. The result is protein that arrives in a form the body can absorb immediately.

74% of all protein arrives as di- and tri-peptides, the smallest absorbable form, taken up directly through the gut wall. Over 91% of the protein falls below the 2 kDa threshold associated with reduced allergen risk.

Royal Canin's hydrolysed veterinary diets describe peptides under 10 kDa as hypoallergenic. The Bradford analysis shows the overwhelming majority of peptides in this recipe are well below that threshold.
