Bone Broth – Boost their Bowl

At Eden, we are committed to providing you and your pets with the finest nutritional products. For the past two years, we've been carefully selecting the best factory to create top-quality bone broth.

Produced in Norway, a country known for its high animal welfare standards and low levels of antibiotics and hormones, our bone broth is made from bones sourced directly from the human food chain. The animals are free-range and grass-fed, raised on cooperative farms. The broth is prepared in a human-grade facility that also serves some of the finest restaurants. The factory uses water sourced from the nearby river, and the bones are simmered for hours to extract maximum collagen. Once complete, the broth is strained and packed immediately in aseptic packaging to preserve its freshness.

Why should I add bone broth to my dog meals?

Both humans and pets can benefit from the nutrient-dense properties of bone broth, making it a versatile food for health and wellness. The benefits for humans and dogs/cats are quite similar in areas like joint health, digestion, hydration, and overall nutrition. Here are some reasons why you might want to include bone broth in your pet’s diet:

Supports Joint Health: Bone broth is rich in collagen, gelatine, and amino acids like proline and glycine, which can help support joint health, reduce inflammation, and improve mobility. This is especially beneficial for older pet’s or those with arthritis.

Improves Digestion: The gelatine in bone broth can promote a healthy gut by supporting the growth of beneficial bacteria. It can help soothe an irritated stomach and improve digestion, which is great for dogs and cats with sensitive tummies.

Hydration: Bone broth is primarily liquid, making it an excellent way to keep your pet hydrated. If your dog or cat is picky about drinking water, adding bone broth to their food can encourage them to stay well-hydrated.

Nutrient Boost: Bone broth is packed with essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus, which can support bone health, muscle function, and overall vitality. It also contains vitamins like A and K, which are beneficial for skin and coat health.

Supports Immune System: The amino acids in bone broth, such as arginine, can help strengthen your pet’s immune system, aiding in better defence against illness and inflammation.

Encourages Appetite: The rich smell and flavour of bone broth can be a great appetite stimulant for picky eaters, helping to entice your pet to eat more consistently.

Bella

Why Bone Broth is Great for Bella, My French Bulldog

Frenchies often struggle with skin sensitivities, but since adding bone broth to Bella’s diet, I’ve noticed her coat looking shinier and healthier. The gelatin and amino acids in bone broth support skin hydration and elasticity, reducing dryness and irritation.

When to feed Bone Broth to my dog?

Bone broth can be an excellent supplement for both dogs and cats, offering hydration, nutrients, and support during recovery. Here are some specific scenarios when bone broth would be helpful:

Recovery Aid (when they’re sick or not eating): If your dog is recovering from surgery, illness, or a rough vet visit and is having trouble eating or drinking, bone broth can help. It’s easy on the stomach and can encourage hydration and a light meal. The aroma and warmth might also stimulate your dog’s appetite.

Hydration Support (when your pet isn’t drinking enough water): If your dog isn’t drinking enough water (common in hot weather, after exercise, or if they’re just picky about water), adding bone broth to their meals or offering it as a treat can provide hydration and electrolytes.

Post-Exercise or Physical Activity (muscle and joint recovery): After vigorous exercise, such as a long walk, run, or playing fetch, bone broth helps replenish nutrients. The collagen in bone broth is also good for joint health, which is great for active or older dogs who might suffer from joint pain or arthritis.

Supporting Senior Pets (joint and digestive health): Senior dogs can benefit from bone broth due to its rich amino acids, which support joints, digestive health, and overall vitality. If your dog is experiencing joint pain or has a sensitive stomach, bone broth can be a comforting and nutritious supplement.

Adding Flavour and Nutritional Boost (for picky eaters or food transition): If your dog is a picky eater or you’re transitioning them to a new food, mixing in some bone broth can make the new food more appetizing and provide extra nutrition.

Digestive Support (for upset stomach or diarrhoea) Bone broth is soothing for a dog's stomach. If your dog has diarrhoea or a sensitive digestive system, bone broth can provide a gentle and nourishing option to help settle their stomach and prevent dehydration.
