Why Eden?

Ways we are reducing our carbon pawprint

We only use the very latest, cutting-edge material for our carrier bags, sugar cane, which is 100% recyclable, fully replacing all plastic carrier bags. Sugar cane also absorbs carbon dioxide, which is one of our environment’s biggest pollutants.

Electric Forklifts

Our forklift fleet is a zero-carbon solution, running completely on electricity. They don’t give off any nasty emissions and use less energy. By going electric with your materials handling equipment, you can be sure that you are choosing a truck that is kind to the environment.

Smaller Boxes

We have made our box dimensions smaller to allow more of your orders to be loaded onto our courier vans. Having fewer courier collections reduces our fuel emissions, helping our earth breathe a little better every day.

Transit

Our pallet film is pre-stretched onto the core to 90% of its maximum strength. Our machine also has two rollers and a motor that further pre-stretches the roll to give the maximum possible yield, taking us from 130% to 250% yield.

Our machine is pre-programmed, so the amount of wrap used for each pallet is relatively consistent and provides efficiency that you can’t achieve with hand wrapping. Limiting our waste of non-recyclable materials helps to reduce our carbon pawprint.

Office

Reduced Electricity

The main areas of our office have been fitted with motion light sensors, which reduce electricity consumption by eliminating the possibility of lights being left on. Lower energy consumption reduces the number of harmful gasses emitted into the environment.

Waste Recycling

All waste produced at our HQ is recycled by our waste service. Recycling reduces the need to grow, harvest or extract new raw materials from the Earth, helping to preserve our planet. We also have Every Can Counts recycling facilities in our office. Recycling aluminium consumes 95% less energy than producing it from raw material.

Orders

We are now using reinforced Eco-tape to seal our boxes which is 100% recyclable (even the glue), meaning that our tape can be recycled along with the box it is stuck to, with no need to spend time and money separating them. Our void filler, used in our boxes, is made from recycled paper, ensuring that both your order and our planet is protected.

Packaging
